My name is Alin. I am a native Spanish speaker and a graduate in Spanish Linguistics. I have been teaching for two years, both online and in person. My multicultural roots made me interested in language teaching, and I ended up using it to pay for my studies. I teach at all levels, but my specialty is intermediate. I like to see how people with an intermediate level and some grammatical errors manage to understand the logic of Spanish and make progress. My greatest asset is to make the student feel at ease: to make him/her understand that we are in a Spanish class, and the goal is to make mistakes and learn.

I make my classes enjoyable, personalized and make the students feel at ease. This is important for learning. I make material customized to the student's interests. I treat the grammar in a subtle way to avoid boring the student. Although necessary, my experience tells me that those who need or want to learn a language for fun are not so interested. For example, if the student is interested in technology and it is time to learn the conditional, we talk about what the world would be like if such and such an invention were developed. Another important point seems to me to be sensitivity: I avoid as much as possible the topics of politics and beliefs so as not to offend anyone.
